Enrique's Story

It is estimated that as much as half of America's workforce has reading and writing problems. This documentary tells the story of Enrique Ramirez and his struggle to learn to read. Narrated by James Earl Jones, this program was used to recruit volunteers to Adult Literacy programs in libraries throughout California.

A Death in the Family studies the impact of television on society and features the removal of daily television viewing from five midwestern families for one month. Winner of a Columbia / DuPont and Sigma Delta Chi awards, it aired as a segment of "Bill Moyers Journal."
